The Whyalla Male-Out Community Fun day is set to coincide with National Men’s Health Week and the aim of the day is to get Whyalla male-folk out and about with family and friends to see what Whyalla has to offer men and boys in the way of activities that keep both the mind and body active and healthy.
There will be something for everyone with exhibits that showcase ‘big boys toys’ together with clubs, hobbies, crafts, live family entertainment, health displays and other activities.
Men of all ages will have the opportunity to undergo a free 15 minute health check with health professionals on hand to answer any general questions regarding men’s health or other concerns.
Displays will celebrate the important roles of men in Whyalla as business people, professionals, tradesman and support personnel as well as their ingenuity, creativity, passions and hobbies.
A new feature for this year’s event is the Whyalla Show’N’Shine where together with trucks, boats, vintage, drag cars and go-karts, a top selection of shiny classic and contemporary machines from Whyalla’s car and bike enthusiasts will be on display.
There will be a people’s choice award for best vehicles with cash and other prizes.
Vehicles entered for judging will incur a $25 registration fee but there will be no charge for other vehicles people want to bring along just for show.
Male-Out Day 2013 will be held at the UniSA Whyalla campus.
In 2012, an estimated 4000 people attended and we’re hoping for even more this year. There will be lots to see and do and plenty of food options. There will be plenty to entertain kids including bouncy castles, face painting and an animal nursery. There is also a free raffle with a selection of prizes donated by the Whyalla business community
